OETF AD 2.22 FLIGHT PROCEDURES
2.22.1   GENERAL
 

The TAIF TMA which is described in ENR 2.1 and depicted on the Taif Area Chart Departure, and Taif Area Chart Arrival is designated as Class C airspace.
 
The Taif CTR which is described in OETF AD2.17 and depicted on the Taif Area Chart Departure, and Taif Area Chart Arrival is designated as Class D airspace.
 
Except for traffic operating within theTaif CTR or circuit of other aerodromes having their own altimeter setting observations, all aircraft operating anywhere within the TAIF TMA/Taif CTR shall reference altimeters to the officially reported QNH for Taif International Airport Airport when at or below the TA.

2.22.2   PROCEDURES FOR IFR FLIGHT WITHIN TAIF TMA/CTA

2.22.12   Procedure for VFR flight within Taif TMA/CTA

The following restrictions must apply to VFR flights:
  • VFR flights are not permitted at night, except with special dispensation given by TWR ATC as indicated in section 10.11.2 below.
  • VFR flights are not permitted in conditions below the VMC minima, except in accordance with a special VFR authorization to operate within the CTR.
  • VFR flights must report at visual reporting points when requested.

All VFR flights operating within the CTR are controlled flights and must obtain and comply with an ATC clearance. Specifically, a VFR flight must request and be granted an ATC clearance prior to entering the CTR. Should an ATC clearance to enter not be available at that time the flight shall be instructed to: "C/s, remain outside of controlled airspace until advise, clearance on request".

OETF AD 2.23 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
2.23.1   landing and taking off at Taif airport

During landing or taking off of wide body aircraft on runway 07/25, taxing on parallel taxiway is not allowed.

Separation DIST of 103.5M exist BTN RWY 07 / 25 centerline and parallel TWY A centerline . DRG TKOF or LDG of ACFT on RWY 07 / 25, any taxing by ICAO AD REF code C or larger ACFT on parallel TWY A is not allowed and vice versa .

2.23.2. OETF may be used as an alternate for B747-8 ACFT subject to the following limitations:
1- B747-8 ACFT all operating weight does not exceed 350 tons.
2- B747-8 ACFT shall use RWY 17/35 and parallel TWY M and B.
3- Parking pad No. 11 on civil apron at nose-in position is the only authorized parking for B747-8, and pilot must contact TWR for parking instructions.
